Vetiver oil is sweet and woody-earthy, reminiscent of roots and damp earth. Vetiverol, however, is much purer and has an airy, salty accent, rich woodiness and a tangy hint of grapefruit. The great advantage of using vetiverol is that the perfumer can decide for themselves which accents they want to emphasise. It acts as a beautiful base note – like surface tension. Galbanum resinoid is a remarkable material with a natural character and a dark green twist. Adding green to this otherwise blue palette enhances the feeling of height and airy skies.
