Ode Ona is a fragrance house founded by Ruth Chao von Gehren. Born between Eastern ritual and French composition, the house creates fragrances as states of mind. Clarity, grounding, calm, appreciation, empowerment and love are translated into scent, held in a single breath. Each composition is made in France by master perfumers Emilie Coppermann and Suzy Le Helley, combining fine fragrance ingredients with insights from olfactory science.

Where East meets scent
For millennia, Eastern rituals have used smoke for clarity, forests for grounding, tea for appreciation, water for calm, flowers for love and leather for empowerment. Ode Ona reimagines these traditions as fragrances that evoke different inner states.

150 Milliseconds to feeling
It takes just 150 milliseconds for scent to reach the limbic system, the part of the brain closely connected to emotion and memory. Guided by neuroscientist and Harvard professor Dr. Venkatesh N. Murthy, Ode Ona considers each ingredient both for its olfactory character and its potential influence on the mind.

From the selection of raw materials to maceration and final quality control, every composition is created with care. The vegan, gender-free formulas are certified by PETA, verified by Provenance and made without colourants, parabens or phthalates. Boxes and printed materials are made from 100% recycled and recyclable paper, while the caps use post-consumer recycled plastic.

Each of the six fragrances also supports a cause connected to its state of mind. With every 50 ml bottle sold, Carte Blanche provides a meal for people affected by crises and disasters, Dawn Earth plants a tree in the Amazon, and Moonkissed Rhapsody helps remove one kilogram of debris from ocean shorelines.
